Ranked URLs - what, how & purpose

🎯 Why Use This View?

The Ranked URLs view allows you to identify how your URLs perform across user search queries and various engines. It displays key metrics including the Highest rank for each URLs from your domain, the top Search query where the URL is featured, the Top three competitors (top three URLs) that rank for the same queries and so on.

By clicking on a specific URL, you access detailed information, such as search queries on which your URL appears, the ranking and competitors for each analyzed search engine.

📊 What This View Helps You Analyze

This view helps you to understand how your URLs rank compared to your competitor URLs that also appear on the same search queries, with clear metrics across both traditional and generative engines.

Evaluate your URLs performance with clear data

URL key indicators such as your URL ranking, the total search queries on which this URL appears, competitors URLs sharing same search queries, and other essential metrics, to evaluate how your URL ranks and performs among competitor URLs over a selected time period.

Analysis available in the table:

  • URL: your URLs ranked from highest to lowest performance.

  • Total Search Queries Ranked: count of search queries where a URL ranked during the selected time period.

  • Average Ranking: reflecting the average ranking position for the URL (masked by default → use the Add/Remove column feature to display this column).

  • Highest Rank: the highest position for a specific URL within all its results over a defined period.

  • Top Search Query: the search query for which a specific URL achieved its highest ranking during the selected time period.

  • Presence Rate: showing the percentage of search query results in which a specific URL is ranked.

  • Top Three URLs: the top three competitor URLs that most frequently appear at leading positions for shared search queries. Click the competitor’s favicon to view more details about the URL in a popover. Click on the link to visit the page.

The Total Search Queries Ranked and Average Ranking columns display the performance trends (Evolution) of the selected URL over the chosen time period (available only for projects with weekly data collection).

To get more insights, use the details button (eye icon) to open a side panel.

The details button (eye icon near Url's) opens a side panel with 2 critical views (tabs):

1. Search Queries

A Deep Dive into Your URL Performance

This section provides a comprehensive analysis of how your URL appears in search queries, and in search results engines.

Analysis available in the table:

  • Search Query: The search query where this URL is positioned.

    • By clicking the "All ranked URLs" button, you'll open the Search Queries side panel with the “My performance” view to gain insights into all your URLs ranked on.

  • Engine: The number of engines on which this URL appears for this search query. Use the table arrow to expand the line and see the engine details.

  • All Ranks: The rankings of your URL for this search query on this engine. Note that your URL can hold multiple positions within the same engine’s results.

  • Top URLs: The top three competitor URLs that share a presence for this search query on the selected engine.

    • By clicking the "All ranked URLs" button, you'll open the Search Queries side panel with the "Competition Landscape" view to gain insights into your competitors for this specific search query.

    • Click the competitor’s favicon to view more details about the URL in a popover. Click on the link to visit the page.

2. Top Competitors

Benchmarking Against Competitors

In this view, you’ll see data on competitor URLs that also appear on the search queries where your URL is present. You’ll also get the average position of each competitor’s URL over a selected time period.

Data available in the table:

  • URLs: All competitors URLs cross-engine that appears on the same search queries. Click on the link to visit the page.

  • Average Ranking: The competitor’s URL average position within all your shared ranked queries over the selected time period.

  • Ranked Search Queries: The number of search queries where these competitor URLs share a presence for the same search query list in all engines.

    • Note that the number on the right indicates the total search queries where your URL appears, serving as a baseline reference.

  • Access Domain URLs key performance metrics like Total Search Queries Ranked, Highest rank, Top Search Query for each URL and so on.

  • Understand how your URL ranks for a specific search query across engines.

  • Identify Top Competitor URLs that share rankings on the same search queries as your URL.


⚙️Extra Features

View filters

You can refine the data displayed in the Ranked URLs and the side panel views by using view filters. Applying the filters will dynamically update tables.

  • Date Picker: Select the desired date range and click the 'Apply' button to update the data in the view. For a 'weekly' project frequency, the selectable period is the week.
    Note: The rankings' changes displayed in the data table are calculated by default compared to the previous week.

  • All thematics: Focus on specific themes you defined during setup to analyze their impact on visibility.

  • All engines: Narrow your analysis to particular engines, helping you understand performance variations across platforms.

  • All types (Generic / Brand): Allows filtering the data to only generic queries (excluding brand name) or exclusively brand queries.

  • Add filter: Display or mask filter(s) in the view by using the "Add filter" button.

  • Reset filters: Click the "Reset filters" button at the end of the line to clear all the applied filters.

Table option

  • Add/Remove column (Only for the main table):

    • Ability to add or remove columns. Please note that the URL, Total Queries, and Top 3 Competitors columns are mandatory and cannot be hidden.

  • Search Bar:

    • Main table: Quickly find a URL, a Top Search Query, or the Top 3 Competitors URLs by using the search bar.

    • Search Queries in side panel: Find a Search Query by using the search bar (Search Query column).

    • Top Competitors in side panel: Find a Competitor’s URL by using the search bar (Top URL-Competitors column).

  • Export Data:

    • Download your URLs analysis in CSV or Excel format for long-term tracking.

    • This is particularly useful for seasonal comparisons, such as during sales periods or holiday campaigns.
